HWPL Los Angeles Hosts Successful Food Drives for Compton City Seniors

International Peace Group Receives Over $13,000 Worth of Canned Food Donations

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international peace non-governmental organization, hosted a food drive in Compton, California on February 3rd. This was the second of two food drives organized in the month of February by the HWPL Los Angeles Branch at the Dollarhide Community Center. The events aimed to help vulnerable members of the community by providing essential food supplies to seniors.

HWPL received overwhelming support from the community and managed to collect 6,913 canned food items, valued at $13,826, demonstrating the impact that collective action can have on addressing local needs. HWPL volunteers played a crucial role in distributing the donated items, dedicating their time and effort to ensure that every member of the community could benefit from the initiative.

Compton and Dollarhide Community officials expressed deep gratitude for HWPL’s commitment to serving the community and spreading a culture of peace. Mayor Emma Shariff shared her appreciation for HWPL’s ongoing peace initiatives by writing a heartfelt support letter and inviting HWPL to present the results of the food drive at a City Council meeting. The community’s support was further amplified by coverage through the television network, Univision, which broadcast the initiative to a wider audience, inspiring others to take action.
