HWPL Global 10 Holds “Religion Trip for Harmony among Religions and Peace” with Daejeon Islam Center
On February 21, HWPL Global 10 held the “Religion Trip for Harmony among Religions and Peace” in collaboration with the Daejeon Islam Center. During the event, HWPL members participated in learning about Islamic worship and culture, experiencing them firsthand, and engaging in a Q&A session to exchange ideas and deepen their understanding.

The tour began with a session on how to wear the hijab, commonly used by Muslim women, and its cultural significance. Participants then took time to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic worship practices by learning about the order of worship, the methods of prayer and their symbolic meanings, and the differences between men’s and women’s worship ceremonies.

▲ Learning the Method and Meaning of Islamic Worship
At the men’s worship area, Imam Ehsan Mirza led the program, while Saira guided the women’s worship area. All activities were conducted in English. The sermon focused on Ramadan, one of the most important Islamic holidays, and covered “The Meaning of Ramadan” and “How to Practice Faith” as explained in the Quran.

After the worship, participants moved to Imam Ehsan Mirza’s office for further explanations about Islamic worship and culture. This was followed by a Q&A session where participants shared their thoughts on how to practice a culture of interfaith peace. A warm exchange took place over food thoughtfully prepared by the center, fostering a sense of community and friendship.

Imam Ehsan Mirza shared his thoughts on the event, saying:
“Islam means peace. I am truly pleased that HWPL members had the opportunity to directly experience Islamic culture and participate in worship during this time of preparation for Ramadan, which is the most important feast in Islam. It was a valuable experience to broaden our understanding of the Islamic world, and it was even more meaningful to share it with good-hearted people. I hope that HWPL continues to actively promote interfaith peace and cultural exchange among various religions.”
This “Daejeon Islam Center Religious Culture Trip” served as a meaningful occasion to practice interfaith understanding and mutual respect through communication and cultural exchange. HWPL Global 10 plans to continue promoting religious harmony and peace activities to build a world where various religions coexist harmoniously.
