Together Connecting Korea Campaign: Concert to Unite with Nature, a Message of Environmental Protection

On October 19, 2024, the first Nature and Music Geumgang Environmental Concert, part of HWPL’s Together Connecting Korea Campaign, was held at the Yeoulmok Ferry Terminal in Geumsan. This event, organized by the Global Environment Guardians and hosted by HWPL, successfully concluded with active participation from many local residents and environmental organizations. This environmental concert was planned in collaboration with various village residents, and offered a unique opportunity to convey messages of environmental protection and sustainable living through music.

“It is meaningful to hold such a beautiful concert here in Geumsan, home to Korea’s splendid natural landscapes,” said Jeong Chan-soon, president of the Global Environment Guardians National Movement Headquarters, in a congratulatory address. “Music has the power to touch people’s hearts, and through it, I hope we can rekindle an appreciation for the preciousness of nature and work together to create a better future.”

“Yesterday, we released 150,000 persimmon fish into the Geum River here in Geumsan,” said Yoo Byeong-yeon, a representative of the Persimmon Fish Cultural Center, during a congratulatory speech delivered on behalf of Geumsan residents. “As we face increasingly challenging living conditions due to severe climate change, I hope that good days will come if everyone comes together to protect nature and live with a reflective mind,” Yoo Byeong-yeon said, urging attendees to join in this cooperative effort.

Jang Bang-sik, honorary director of HWPL Global Branch 10, urged everyone to join forces to create a healthy environment to pass on as a legacy to future generations.

“With the good light and air given from above, earth is the only place in the universe where life can truly thrive,” Jang Bang-sik said during a congratulatory address. “However, the destruction of our global environment is severe.”

The event featured beautiful musical performances for the attendees that highlighted the importance of protecting nature. While collecting signatures of support for the Together Connecting Korea Campaign, citizens pledged their commitment to taking action to protect the planet and strengthen their resolve to participate in environmental efforts. HWPL expressed its gratitude to everyone who participated in the campaign and will continue various environmental campaigns and peace activities for a sustainable earth in the future.
